After seeing how the Sphero Robot balls got the middle school and high school students excited about computer science and coding, F.AVE teacher Whitney Ricker knew she needed to promote this interest in robotics for her own students. With the help of a DEF grant, she was able to purchase everything she needed to create some engaging STEM projects: five Sphero 2.0 Robot balls, resource books for the MIT coding program, Scratch (programming language for kids), and a DOBOT Educational Programming Robot. All of these supplies will provide an array of fun projects for fifth graders to learn and expand their coding skills in fun, creative, and collaborative ways.
