Joshua’s Fund was established in 2024 to celebrate the vibrant spirit of Joshua Faison, a Decatur High School graduate with a profound love for exploring the world and helping others. In collaboration with the Decatur Education Foundation, Joshua’s family established the Joshua Faison Memorial Fund, dedicated to providing educational and enrichment opportunities for Decatur students experiencing financial challenges.
The mission of the Joshua Faison Memorial Fund is to ensure that all Decatur students, regardless of their economic circumstances, have the opportunities for life-changing experiences that will shape their futures. Joshua’s Fund supports opportunities for students in the form of annual grants disbursed by the Decatur Education Foundation to be used for travel, camps, or other opportunities that a student might not otherwise be able to participate in.
Born on November 12, 1997, to Reginald Faison, Jr. and Nadine Faison, Joshua’s journey included graduating from Decatur High School in 2015 and a six-year tenure as a dedicated driver at United Parcel Service (UPS). Known for his floral, bubbly, and friendly personality, Joshua forged numerous friendships at UPS, earning high regard from management. Whether behind the wheel or spending time with friends, cousins, and family, Joshua embodied qualities of handsomeness, coolness, suavity, and debonair charm. Tragically, Joshua passed away on March 7, 2023, leaving a legacy of compassion, curiosity, and a profound appreciation for exploring our world.
