Did you know that there are six different band ensembles at Decatur High School? As the school population grows, the needs of the music programs will expand too. In the last several years, DEF has been able to fund the purchase of several instruments including tubas, bass clarinets, and bassoons, using funds raised through the Mead Road Mardi Gras. In the fall, DHS Band Director Robert Truan was awarded a DEF grant to purchase a euphonium that will help round out the band and provide more opportunities for students hoping to participate in the award-winning musical programs.
