College Heights Pre-K teacher Angela Gabriel, wanted a way to promote outside play for her students, even when it’s wet. With a DEF grant, she was able to purchase over-the-shoe rain boots and raincoats for her class, which will allow them to continue to have valuable outside time despite the weather. In addition to exercising their bodies and enjoying some fresh air, students will also be able to exercise their minds. The class can now explore the nature around the school and the garden after a rainfall, without worrying about getting muddy or wet.
