DHS graphics teacher Randall Archer is also the instructor of the high school’s Furniture Design class, only the second of its kind in the state. Because the class is so new, the design lab was short on tools and supplies. With funding from a DEF grant, he was able to purchase an oscillating spindle sander and angle grinders that will allow his students to create meaningful, hands-on projects. In addition, Mr. Archer also purchased materials to build a storage unit for the students’ creations.
