Meet the Team Gail Rothman Executive Director Gail joined the Decatur Education Foundation as its first Executive Director in 2009 and has overseen a period of rapid growth and expansion for the Foundation. She has over 20 years experience in non-profit work including program development, strategic partnerships and resource development. Meagan Berardi Director of Community Engagement Meagan joined DEF in early 2014 and serves as Director of Community Engagement. She is responsible for coordinating outreach efforts, managing events and overseeing our thriving volunteer program, which includes our office volunteer team and hundreds of event volunteers. Elise Drago Office Manager Elise joined the team as Office Manager in August 2016. Her professional background is in account and customer service and she will be responsible for overseeing all office processes and support systems across the organization. Elise has been an active supporter of children across our community and has held leadership positions in several school PTAs. Erica S. Stevens Mentor Coordinator Erica S. Stevens, PhD, joined DEF in August 2016 as the mentor coordinator. She brings more than 20 years of experience in the field of youth development. Erica has served at the local, state, and national levels of the leading youth development organizations. Under her leadership, she has developed, expanded, and evaluated programs in the areas of homework help and tutoring, dropout prevention, STEM, literacy, summer learning, and the arts. Erin Murphy Marketing and Communications Coordinator Erin Murphy joined the DEF team in August 2016 as our marketing and communications coordinator. She is responsible for communicating the organization’s mission, promoting its events, and celebrating its inspirational success stories. She comes to DEF with 15+ years of experience in marketing communications and is a longtime volunteer for CSD and Decatur Farm To School. Board Members Erin Braden Chair Erin has lived in Decatur with her family for 14 years, and has a daughter at Decatur High School and a son at F.AVE. She works for Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta in Strategic Planning and serves on the City’s Better Together Advisory Board. Lilly Pettus Lilly Pettus is a community volunteer and leader in Decatur. She has served in leadership roles on school leadership teams, parent teacher associations, Decatur festivals and the Decatur Education Foundation since moving here in 2008. She and her husband Tim have four children and two of them currently attend City Schools of Decatur. Tennielle Bailey Tennielle Bailey is a property law and compliance attorney and a local business owner. She is a former DEF volunteer, a REACH program mentor, and a CSD strategic planning committee member. An Atlanta native and ten year Decatur resident, Tennielle and husband Ron have two sons currently in city schools. Chris Brown Chris Brown is vice president of finance of The Carter Center. He serves on the Boards of Progressive Redevelopment, Inc. and the Historic Fourth Ward Park Conservancy. Chris grew up in Decatur and graduated from Georgetown University. He and his wife, Susan, live in Winnona Park with their children Alex and Katie. Cathy Carlomagno Cathy Carlomagno has more than 25 years of medical communications experience, with regional and national health organizations. She is currently the managing editor of a medical/scientific journal. Cathy and her husband Matthew moved to Decatur in 2005 and have one daughter in City Schools of Decatur. Han Choi Han Choi is an attorney who served on the boards of the Georgia Center for Nonprofits, Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation, National Asian Pacific American Bar Association, and Emory Law’s Advisory Board. He graduated from Northwestern University and Emory School of Law. Two of his children attend City Schools of Decatur. Brad Cornett Brad Cornett spent his career in business advisory and high-technology. Currently, he sells Enterprise Software for Oracle. Brad and his wife Marlis grew up in Atlanta, in Decatur since 2001 and have an almost first-grader at Clairemont. He has been an active volunteer for CSD and is on the school leadership team at Clairemont. Irm Diorio After a career in project management and communications at BellSouth Corporation, Irm Diorio was inspired to work for small and start-up education-based companies while raising two amazing kids with her husband. Currently, she is associate director of Decatur Makers, a family-friendly makerspace where kids and adults learn skills through hands-on experience. David Dude Dr. David Dude joined City Schools of Decatur as superintendent of schools in 2015. He previously served as the chief operating officer of nearly all aspects of operational efficiency and effectiveness for the Iowa City Community School District. Doug Faust Doug Faust has extensive experience in affordable housing development at the local, state, and federal levels and serves as the executive director of the award-winning Decatur Housing Authority that operates the STARS After-School Program and awards college scholarships to its graduating high school seniors. Doug enjoys gardening and fly fishing. Joel Gould Joel Gould, owner of Carrot+Stick, is a global marketer with broad based marketing, strategy and innovation expertise. Carrot+Stick’s specialties include: Creativity, brand Innovation, Campaign Development, Activation, Point of Purchase Collateral and Premium Incentives. Joel and his wife, Michelle, live in Decatur and have two daughters in the Decatur school system. Claire Miller Claire Miller is the Director of the City of Decatur’s Children and Youth Services Division. Before joining the City of Decatur team in 2005, Claire was an environmental educator at the Oakhurst Community Garden, a Peace Corps volunteer in Guatemala, and a Hands On Atlanta AmeriCorps volunteer at a middle school. Todd Ohlandt Todd Ohlandt is a former Wall Street trader turned supply-chain and healthcare executive who is currently a Managing Principal within the Cresa Consulting Group. Todd holds a BA from Wake Forest and an MBA from Duke. Todd, his wife Kerri, and their three sons have lived near downtown Decatur since 2009. Natalie Williams Natalie Williams has over 20 years of marketing, strategic business planning and project management experience in the corporate and non-profit sectors. She has lived in Decatur since 2013 and has two sons who attend City Schools of Decatur. Marc Wisniewski Marc Wisniewski is a corporate strategist for IBM. He served on Decatur’s Board of Education from 2001-2013 and as chair for the final three years. He lives in Decatur with his wife, Cindy Lamons. His two sons, Andy (Class of 2006) and Michael (Class of 2008) are both graduates of City Schools of Decatur. Donald Horace Donald Horace served previously as the Vice President of the Renfroe Middle School SLT and the Chair of its Parent Engagement Committee. He currently serves on the City of Decatur’s Life Long Community Advisory Board. He and his wife, Karen, have two daughters at Decatur High School. Professionally, Mr. Horace is an attorney that specializes in Family Law and Elder Law, with his primary office in downtown Decatur. Molly Marrah A Pittsburgh native, Molly Marrah has lived in Decatur for 14 years with her husband, Scott, and their three children. Until 2016, Molly was a full-time mom, and has recently begun working part-time at a Decatur real estate office. Molly has held many volunteer positions in our schools throughout the years, and has been an active volunteer and supporter of the DEF.
