Annual Children’s Used Book Sale
@ the Decatur Book Festival
All proceeds benefit programs that promote reading skills and a love of literature. This year’s sale was a big success
The 2012 Children’s Used Book Sale sale was a BIG success! We made $5,800 – all of which will go to programs that further the culture of literacy in the Decatur Public Schools.
Our profound thanks to all the wonderful volunteers that helped us – those who helped sort and label the books, those who arrived in the early morning hours to transport books and set up the booth, those who braved the heat and helped sell the books during the very busy two days of the Decatur Book Festival, and those that helped us break it down and cart it away. You are all just fabulous!
Special Thanks to The First Baptist Church of Decatur for allowing us to store our books during the summer – which allowed us to have more inventory on hand , which in turn translated to more beautiful, low-cost books available for purchase and more money going to fund the DEF literacy programs. We are happy!
