Volunteer
Volunteers are engaged in every aspect of our work from administrative support in our office to cheering on participants in our annual 5k. Currently volunteers are needed in the following areas:
Tour deCatur 5K Race, March 23, 2013
The annual Tour deCatur 5K Road Race and 1-mile Fun Run (and Tot Trot) is in it’s 11th year. It is a fabulous community event that attracts runners of all ages – including hundreds of school aged kids. We needs many volunteers to make sure all goes smoothly and all these runners will have a great experience. Most volunteers are only needed for 2-3 hours in the morning. Office Support - Volunteers support the work of the Foundation in a variety of ways. Tasks include special projects that employ a variety of specialized computer skills, data entry, and special events.
Email Nia@DecaturEducationFoundation.org for more information.
Photographers – DEF has benefitted from the generosity of some great photographers who donate their time. We would like to expand this pool and add volunteers who would be willing to be called upon when we have a photography need. Volunteers would agree to be on the “ask” list but could evaluate each opportunity and pick and choose those that work for him/her.

Cub Reporters – DEF has benefitted from the generosity of some talented writers who have lent their skills to help us share success stories with the greater Decatur community. We would like to expand this pool and add volunteers who would be willing to be called upon when we have need for a story. Volunteers would agree to be on the “ask” list but could evaluate each opportunity and pick and choose those that work for him/her.

Bakers – DEF is looking for people who love to bake who can be called upon when we are in need of delicious baked goods for an event or an appreciation. Volunteers would agree to be on the “ask” list but could evaluate each opportunity and pick and choose those that work for him/her.
